95 BMT Fusion 5 string.
Hello, I was hoping to find out some info on my 5 string BMT which is a masterpiece BTW! just outstanding.
Can I ask why you do not make the NT's this way anymore? as well the neck profile on this bass is very slim, seems even slimmer than other Smith 5's I have played, has there been much variation in the neck profile's since the 90's? also Why were only a small number of these basses made, was this a special run? Also, just to mention I also have a BT4 from 1985 which is my number #1 I hope to get that refurb'd someday by the factory. Best - Tom |

Several reasons to answer your question but mainly, we re-designed the basses in the latter 90s to be like the earlier 80s basses. So, the BMTs were a limited period bass model for a few reasons as well as that style of building.

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me. I just noticed the tip top of the truss nut is rounded but further in still has teeth to grip. If I wanted to change the nut can this be screwed off the rod? It looks like It can be. As well what size truss nut would I order as a replacement? Thanks T We have only one size Nut since the beginning. Do NOT use 3mm to adjust it. That will round it. Use only 1/8th inch. Which will come with the New Nut when you order. For any and all business., Email me at support@kensmithbasses.com. |
